Hello! This is my first post for my first-ever blog. I've always wanted to start a blog, but I could never narrow-down my topics. As it turns out, I am a teacher who is attending graduate school, majoring in Curriculum and Instruction. This semester, I am taking a college course that is requires me to write a blog. This blog must be on a topic related to the class, which is a reading course titled Literacy and Instruction II. Due to the pandemic, my children are completing their virtual learning from home and it is serendipitous that my son, Giorgio, is the perfect subject for me to work with for my required practicum because he is a kindergartener. As you may know, kindergarteners are just beginning their language learning and development. I actually have two college classes this year that require that I work with my a student, so as some of the reading and phonics concepts overlap, I will share my progress and experiences on this blog. The other course that requires a practicum with a student is a reading course titled Literacy Assessment. It is my hope that in some small way this blog can be beneficial to someone else who is learning about literacy curriculum and reading instruction. Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoy the experience. Buon voyage!
